Math Helps Us Make Sense of Life

— and Solve Problems, Big and Small.

1. Define the Question

Start with a real-world challenge:

“We didn’t have enough cookies last time! I need to double the recipe.”

2. Turn It Into a Math Problem

Frame it as a solvable math question:

“The recipe uses 1½ cups of flour—what’s double that?”

3. Solve

Compute with whatever works—mental math, paper, or tools:

“1½ × 2 = (1 × 2) + (½ × 2) = 2 + 1 = 3 cups”

4. Check the Result

Verify if the answer makes sense in real life.

“Perfect—now we have enough cookies!”

It Takes a Team
Teachers + Parents = Student Success
5-05.png

Teachers offer

knowledge, strategies, and challenges that inspire students

to stretch and reach higher.

Parents create an environment

rich in encouragement, patience, and support:

the kind of place where

confidence and perseverance can take root.

The student is full of potential:

ready to explore, discover, and grow.

Together

— with parents’ steady care and teachers’ thoughtful nurturing —

students grow in math, stretching their thinking, and reaching higher,
one thoughtful moment at a time.
